Learn to make Security of Payment

your Powertool

WORKSHOP Learn to make Security of Paymen your Powertool 24 May 2018

Join us for an information workshop at Fitzy's Loganholme and get ready for the impact of new building and construction industry legislation commencing from 1 July 2018.

The new legislation is called the Building Industry Fairness (Security of Payment) Act 2017 (BIF) and with it come new requirements relating to Project Bank Accounts (PBA).

Under BIF, this means the following actions must be taken by subcontractors and tradespeople:

  • Your invoice could be a payment claim.

  • Your suppliers and subcontractors’ invoices could be payment claims.

  • Payment schedules are now compulsory.

  • At worst, this means liability for the full amount claimed and potentially 100 QBCC penalty points for offending businesses.

  • There are new warning notices, response times and QBCC infringements.

Attend a morning or afternoon workshop (includes light refreshments) and get your business ready for 1 July!

Please note 10% of proceeds from Aitchison Reid ticket sales will be donated to not-for-profit organisation Mates in Construction: matesinconstruction.org.au

If you are a Landscape Queensland member, please contact your association to register.
